About Linnea Hendrickson

I am a retired librarian and teacher; a walker, reader, traveler, and photographer. I walked my first solo Camino de Santiago de Compostela in 2010, from Le-Puy-en-Velay, France, to Finisterre in Spain. Since then, I have walked with my husband Kent, at least every other year (until Covid!) on other pilgrim routes in France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. I believe we are all pilgrims on the journey of life. My motto is Solvitur Ambulando (it is solved by walking).

I grew up in the small village of Newberry in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula during the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. I also spent time on the farms of my relatives in Menominee County.

This blog began in 2019 and is very much a work in progress. It includes posts on my pilgrimages and travels, family stories and history, miscellaneous musings, and links to other resources.

For my old Caminobleu.blogger.com, which began in 2010 and continued into 2018, please click on the link in the sidebar. There is also an older blogger blog entitled Happy Chickens. It includes Christmas letters, stories of travel to China, Myanmar,Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Scotland and other places. It also includes and musings and reflections. Our most recent blog, JacanaPress focuses on our 2023 publishing debut, We Ran Away to Sea: A Memoir and Letters.

I also review books for NetGalley. Professional Reader
